CTS will incorporate HKJC’s Happy Valley, Sha Tin, and Conghua racecourses into its travel offerings.
Hong Kong.- The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Travel Service (CTS) to promote horse racing tourism and other initiatives in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). CTS will incorporate HKJC’s Happy Valley, Sha Tin, and Conghua racecourses into its travel offerings.
With regular race meetings scheduled at Conghua from 2026, CTS will offer travel packages that combine horse racing with other entertainment activities. The partnership will also promote Hong Kong as an events destination. The two organisations will also launch study tours aimed at fostering engagement between young people from Hong Kong and mainland China.

Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, the HKJC’s chief executive officer, said that by leveraging joint strengths the two bodies could “promote exchange and cooperation in tourism, especially equine tourism, sports and culture between Hong Kong and the Mainland. It will also enable Hong Kong to strengthen its international connectivity, as well as inject new vitality into the development of world-class tourist destinations in the GBA.”
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law said, “We are delighted to see the cooperation between The Hong Kong Jockey Club and China Travel Service (Holdings) Hong Kong Limited in promoting tourism offerings with Hong Kong’s uniqueness, including horse racing tourism and island tourism, and enhancing collaboration across tourism, sports and culture, which would further showcase the appeal of Hong Kong as a world-class tourist destination and attract visitors to return repeatedly.”
