Galaxy Entertainment announces board changes
The operator has named Jaime Sze as an independent non-executive director and has appointed former CFO Robert Drake to the board.
Macau.- Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has announced a series of board and committee changes. Robert Charles Drake, who served as Group CFO from 2008 to March 2023 and later returned as senior advisor, joins the board as a non-executive director effective today. Drake’s career has included senior roles at Harrah’s Entertainment, now Caesars.
GEG also announced the appointment of Sze Wine Him Jaime as an independent non-executive director and member of the Nomination Committee. The Hong Kong businessman and investment executive currently serves as investment director of Hang Tung Resources Holding Limited and as a non-executive director of Prosperous Future Holdings Limited.
Sze has signed a three-year service contract and will receive annual remuneration of HK$475,000 (US$61,000). Drake’s three-year appointment has an annual remuneration of HK$390,000 (US$50,100), subject to annual review and shareholder approval.
The company also confirmed several changes to board committee leadership, including the appointment of chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung as chairman of the Nomination Committee. Independent non-executive directors William Yip Shue Lam and Michael Victor Mecca have resigned due to retirement.
Earlier this week, the company reported net revenue of HK$12.4bn (US$1.59bn) for the first quarter of 2026, up 11 per cent year-on-year. In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on May 12, the company reported that adjusted EBITDA reached HK$3.6bn (US$462m) for the three months ended March 31, 2026, an increase of 8 per cent from a year earlier but down 17 per cent from the previous quarter.
