Five contenders for Nagasaki IR
The prefecture has not named the competing companies but says they are from Europe, the US and Asia.
Japan.- The Nagasaki prefecture has confirmed that five groups have entered its request-for-proposal (RFP) process with aim of participating in its bid for an integrated resort (IR) licence.
Hodo Nakamura, Nagasaki prefecture’s governor, did not name the companies but said they were from Europe, the US and Asia.
Nagasaki will announce the result of a “first-round selection” in March, when it will narrow the list of bidders to three. They will then have to present their projects in August for the prefecture to make a final decision.
The prefecture and Sasebo City Council plas to pass a resolution on its casino resort proposal by “springtime” 2022 before making their submission to the national government.
Contenders for Nagasaki’s IR
Although the prefecture’s integrated resort promotion division did not name the five groups competing to become its private operator partner, there are four known contenders.
They include Casinos Austria; Pixel Company with Groupe Partouche; and Get Nice Holdings with Current Corp.
Oshidori International Development and US tribal casino operator Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment have also announced a partnership to enter the bidding process.
