DigiPlus net income rises in Q1
Net income was up by 110 per cent year-on-year.
The Philippines.- DigiPlus Interactive Corp has shared its financial results for the first quarter of the year. Net income was PHP4.2bn (US$75.7m), up 110 per cent when compared to last year. The company attributed the growth to the strong performance of its flagship platforms and the contribution of new game offerings across BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone.
Revenue was up 69 per cent in year-on-year terms to PHP23.06bn (US$415.6m). Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached PHP4.59bn (US$82.7m), an increase of 117.9 per cent. The company said this was driven by operational efficiency, enabling more reinvestment in marketing, product innovation and user experience, and a rationalisation of PAGCOR’s reduction in fees for e-games from 35 per cent to 30 per cent.
DigiPlus contributed PHP8.8bn (US$158.59m) in taxes and regulatory fees, an increase of PHP1.9bn (US$34.24m). or 28 per cent, in year-on-year terms.
BingoPlus was launched in 2022 after PAGCOR approved the AB Leisure division’s request to begin operations as an electronic games system service provider. On its third anniversary, the platform surpassed 40 million registered users. DigiPlus said: “Since its launch, BingoPlus has evolved into a full-scale digital entertainment super app, offering bingo, sports betting, and live-streamed games.”
DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco said: “DigiPlus aims to bring the success it has established in the Philippines to participate in the thriving digital entertainment and electronic gaming industry globally. Our performance in the first quarter shows that we are building not just for scale, but for long-term value creation. We continuously invest in technology, talent, and trust – and this is what sets us apart.”
In January, DigiPlus gained a Brazil sports betting and online gaming licence, which it will operate via a local unit, DigiPlus Brazil. It has since incorporated its Singapore hub, DigiPlus Global Pte.
