Zimbabwe’s Nyanga town gets 15 per cent revenue boost with Montclair Casino
Rainbow Tourism Group’s Montclair Resort and Conference acquisition drives growth, expanding casino operations beyond major cities.
Zimbabwe.- Zimbabwe’s Nyanga town is emerging as a key player in hospitality and gaming after Rainbow Tourism Group reported a 15 per cent rise in first-half 2025 revenue, supported by its acquisition of Montclair Resort and Conference, a hotel and casino complex. The resort, which includes hotel, conference and casino facilities, highlights the growth of casino infrastructure beyond major cities like Harare and Bulawayo.
Rainbow Tourism Group’s H1 2025 report, as published on AfricanFinancials.com, states: “The acquisition, finalised in late 2024 and consolidated into RTG’s financials from March 2025, includes casino operations alongside hotel and conference facilities. RTG’s strong H1 2025 results, showing approximately 15 per cent year-on-year revenue growth, reflect the combined performance of its hotel and casino portfolio, including Montclair.”
Casinos expanding to secondary towns
The Montclair acquisition underscores the growing trend of casino infrastructure expanding into secondary towns. Investment in Nyanga shows that regional towns can host profitable gaming operations while boosting tourism and local employment.
RTG’s refurbishment of the resort has upgraded both the hotel and casino facilities, positioning the property as a destination for leisure and gaming. The group highlights this move as part of a broader strategy to diversify its geographic footprint and strengthen its hospitality and casino segment across Zimbabwe.
Montclair’s success in Nyanga illustrates a wider trend in Zimbabwe: casinos are increasingly moving outside major cities, enhancing tourism and job creation and demonstrating that resort-town investments can drive strong portfolio growth.
