Côte d’Ivoire.- Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery (LONACI) is advancing its preparations for World Lottery Association (WLA) Level 4 responsible gaming certification following a four-day seminar in Jacqueville from October 20 to 23, 2026. The meeting brought together quality and responsible gaming representatives to prepare the certification submission, examine communication and training programmes, and define actions for 2027.
The Quality Days and Responsible Gaming 2026 seminar was organised by LONACI’s Autonomous Service of Quality and Responsible Gaming and presided over by its head, Koffi Antoine.
LONACI said: “The work focused on quality management, the prevention of underage gambling and gambling addiction, support tools, and mastery of the World Lottery Association (WLA) platform for monitoring requirements.”

During the seminar, participants reviewed the 2026 programme and prepared the documentation for certification. The Responsible Gaming Committee also held its first meeting, examining communication campaigns and training programmes dedicated to responsible gaming. Certificates were awarded to participants in recognition of their participation in the capacity-building session.
The work also enabled LONACI to consolidate and process the data required for its management review, scheduled for October 28, 2026.
LONACI added: “LONACI reaffirms its ambition to combine operational excellence, continuous improvement, and player protection. A dynamic approach that strengthens its responsible gaming framework and prepares it to take a new step towards Level 4 certification.”
The seminar follows LONACI’s wider efforts to strengthen player protection as it works towards Level 4 certification from the WLA. In July 2026 the lottery was expanding its nationwide responsible gaming awareness campaign beyond Abidjan, extending education and training across its retail network. LONACI achieved WLA Level 3 Responsible Gaming certification in February 2026, becoming the first lottery operator in sub-Saharan Africa to reach that level.
