Ghana.- Ghana’s gaming landscape welcomes a new entrant. Buzzycash Technologies has entered the country with three culturally inspired games of chance designed to resonate with everyday Ghanaian life. The launch, held in Accra on 25 November, marks the company’s official entry into the country’s regulated digital gaming sector.

Fully licensed under the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Buzzycash said its games – Jollof Rice, Trotro and Goldmine – comply with national gaming regulations and ensure transparency for players. NLA’s Akua Darko said: “Buzzycash’s games operate on the NLA-backed Caritas platform, ensuring regulatory compliance and fair play.”

At the launch, the company emphasised the cultural relevance of its offerings. Joel Adewale, CEO of Buzzycash Technologies, said: “Our games are designed to connect people with games that resonate with their culture and deliver unforgettable experiences to reward and engage customers, celebrate culture, empower participation and fuel joy.”

The games are themed around familiar aspects of Ghanaian life, including Jollof rice (a popular West African tomato-based rice dish), the bustling trotro (minibus) commute (travel) and gold-mining activities. “We have turned our Jollof rice, our daily trotro rush, and our gold mine into games culturally made for us. Everyone can identify with them and play to win, simple as that,” said Buzzycash.

Easy access and big wins

Players can access the games via the short code *245# on all mobile networks. Each entry qualifies for a monthly draw of GHS50,000 (€4,250), giving participants an additional chance to win.

Buzzycash’s offerings provide a range of play experiences. Some games deliver instant, machine-generated outcomes with winnings paid directly to mobile-money wallets. Others simulate urban transport or mining risks, offering multipliers on stakes for successful play.

The launch positions Buzzycash to tap into Ghana’s growing digital gaming and mobile-money market. By blending local culture with accessible technology, the company aims to attract both casual players and enthusiasts seeking culturally resonant entertainment.

As the company begins operations, the response from players will determine how quickly culturally inspired games of chance become a mainstream part of Ghana’s digital entertainment landscape.
