National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire foundation opens six new schools
The Foundation strengthens education across Côte d’Ivoire with new classrooms, canteens and upgraded facilities.
Côte d’Ivoire.- The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI), through its social responsibility arm, the LONACI Foundation, has handed over six newly built primary schools as part of a larger nationwide project.
The broader initiative involves a total investment of 716 million FCFA (€1.09m) to deliver 51 classrooms, school canteens and renovated facilities, supporting education, health and social development across eight regions and 10 departments.
The handover ceremony, held at LONACI’s headquarters in Abidjan, was attended by Minister-Advisor to the President Albert Toikeusse, regional leaders and local officials.
According to LONACI Deputy Director General Abdoulkarim Ouattara, who spoke on behalf of Dramane Coulibaly, Chairman of the Board of the LONACI Foundation, the new schools are part of this wider initiative aimed at boosting education in Côte d’Ivoire.
“This year alone, we are making 51 classrooms available to Ivorian schools. With an average of 30 students per class, these children and their parents can look to the future with hope thanks to this initiative,” said Ouattara, according to Abidjan.net.

Six schools and supporting facilities handed over
The recent handover included six newly built primary schools, three additional three-classroom buildings, two school canteens and the rehabilitation of existing school facilities. All were supplied with furniture and toilets.
Ouattara added: “In accordance with the LONACI Foundation’s social commitment, all schools have been equipped with furniture and latrines. These donations, spread across eight regions and 10 departments of our country, represent a total investment of 716 million CFA francs.”
Communities in Séguéla, Adzopé, Man, Biankouma, Kouibly, Abengourou and Mankono are among the beneficiaries of this major education boost.
Ouattara also reaffirmed the Foundation’s pledge to strengthen its support for education and social projects. “The Director General of LONACI will increase whenever possible the resources made available to the Foundation by LONACI to accomplish its social mission.”
The LONACI Foundation continues to demonstrate how lottery revenues can be reinvested into communities, delivering tangible social impact and strengthening LONACI’s role not just as a lottery operator but as a key driver of national development.
