Madagascar’s casinos end 2025 with high-stakes poker nights and year-end festivals
Local casinos kept players engaged with high-stakes poker nights and festive tournaments, culminating in a lively close to the year.
Madagascar.- Madagascar’s poker scene came alive in late 2025, with casinos such as Casino de Nosy Be, Casino Marina and Casino du Grand Cercle staging a steady rhythm of weekly games, community tournaments and a month-long mini-festival that pulled in both locals and visiting players.
In the city of Nosy Be, the Casino de Nosy Be emerged as one of the country’s most active hubs, running a stream of high-stakes poker nights through October and November, continuing until December . The casino said: “Don’t miss our poker festival – lively tables and friendly evenings await you each night.”
Local community groups also helped spread the word, with posts inviting players to weekly sessions: “Join us every Friday evening for our weekly poker tournaments, with buy-ins accessible to all players.” These grassroots announcements helped maintain a constant flow of players, giving the island a reputation for some of the most social and accessible poker nights in Madagascar.
Buildup to the African Series of Poker
In the capital, Antananarivo’s casino circuit mirrored the momentum. Casino Marina, one of the busiest gaming destinations in the city, continued to promote regular Texas Hold’em nights throughout September and October, keeping the local poker community engaged.
But the biggest headline was the buildup to the African Series of Poker (ASOP) Madagascar, scheduled for November 30 to December 7 2025 at Casino du Grand Cercle. The announcement gave Antananarivo’s poker community a marquee tournament to aim for, with local players using the smaller weekly games as warm-ups ahead of the international series.
Together, the activity signalled a growing poker culture in Madagascar-one that blends grassroots enthusiasm with the promise of bigger competitive events. High-stakes poker nights, from Nosy Be’s festival tables to Antananarivo’s casino halls, are set to cap off an active and entertaining close to Madagascar’s 2025 casino year.
