LONASE chair Camara joins ALGA board
The association said Camara’s knowledge of the continent’s regulatory landscape will help improve collaboration among member organisations.
Senegal.- The Africa Lotteries and Gaming Association (ALGA) has appointed Moustapha (Tapha) Camara, chairperson of Senegal’s National Lottery (LONASE), to its board of directors.
ALGA announced the appointment on Wednesday, July 15, saying Camara’s experience in lottery governance and regulation will support its efforts to strengthen cooperation among lottery operators and gaming regulators across Africa.
As chairperson of LONASE, Camara has led initiatives focused on responsible gaming, institutional governance and regulatory standards. ALGA said his appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening oversight and supporting the sustainable growth of Africa’s regulated lotteries and gaming sector.

The association said Camara’s knowledge of the continent’s regulatory landscape will help advance ethical industry practices, improve collaboration among member organisations and support its work on regulatory development.
Camara is also expected to play a role in shaping ALGA’s long-term priorities, including promoting innovation, expanding knowledge-sharing among members and creating greater value for the association’s stakeholders.
Camara joins the organisation as ALGA continues to broaden its leadership base across the African lotteries and gaming sector. His appointment follows the addition of ICT executive Moss Gondwe to the board.
