International Gambling Standards Summit joins forces with AGRA to revolutionise gambling across Africa
A continent-wide conference series will unify standards, strengthen consumer protection and promote responsible gambling across African markets.
Kenya.- Africa’s gambling industry is set for a more unified future as the International Gambling Standards Summit has partnered with the Association of Gaming Regulators in Africa (AGRA) to launch a series of conferences aimed at harmonising gambling standards across the continent.
The Summit is recognised globally as a premier forum for advancing industry standards, while AGRA unites gambling regulatory agencies from across Africa to promote cooperation and effective oversight.
The first conference will take place from February 10 to 13, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together regulators, industry leaders and standards bodies to review and refine draft standards. The sessions are expected to spark high-level discussions and practical feedback, laying the groundwork for a consistent approach to gambling regulation across Africa.
A joint press statement said: “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the development of unified gambling standards that will enhance consumer protection, promote responsible gambling and foster a stable and predictable business environment for gambling operators.”

Unification drive expands to Southern and West Africa
To ensure inclusivity, two additional regional events are already scheduled. Southern Africa will host its conference from March 16 to 19, 2027, followed by West Africa from March 7 to 10, 2028.
The statement added: “By advancing harmonisation, the International Gambling Standards Summit and the Association of Gaming Regulators in Africa reaffirm their commitment to establishing a unified regulatory framework that supports sustainable industry growth.”
With Africa’s gambling markets growing rapidly, this partnership represents a major step toward a safer, more transparent and well-regulated industry that benefits players, operators and regulators alike.
