Acting on intelligence from the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, officers arrived at the scene and caught them in the act. During the arrest, authorities recovered GH¢15,260 (€1,219), believed to be proceeds from the fraud. The money has been held as evidence, and the suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues. They are expected to face charges in court soon.
DSP Godwin Ahianyo of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit said in a statement: “Such activities are often designed to defraud and steal from unsuspecting victims.”
