Ghana National Lottery Authority recognised by Armed Forces College
The lottery authority was among organisations recognised for contributing to the military college’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Ghana.- Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA) has been recognised for its role in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC).
College representatives visited the NLA offices on September 17 as part of a series of visits to organisations that supported its Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Colonel Bernard Baah-Acheamfour, director of corporate affairs, represented Commandant Major General Jackson Wonje during the visit. He presented letters of appreciation, plaques, copies of The Flame Magazine and African Journal, as well as 50th-anniversary souvenirs.
NLA director-general Mohammed Abdul-Salam received the token on behalf of the Authority and thanked the College for acknowledging its contribution to the celebrations.
The NLA was among three organisations visited that day, alongside Irani Brothers & Others Ltd and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
Baah-Acheamfour said the Golden Jubilee marked five decades of professional military education, leadership development and service to Ghana, Africa and the international community. He said corporate partnerships had helped the College deliver the anniversary programme and contributed to national development. The College said it would continue building relationships with corporate organisations and other stakeholders.
The recognition comes as the NLA continues work on its lottery-sector initiatives. The Authority is developing a performance-linked support and reward scheme for Lotto Marketing Companies and is advancing the rollout of 5,000 POS terminals through its partnership with Fidelity Bank.
The NLA is also taking part in World Lottery Association training covering responsible gaming and corporate social responsibility as it works towards Level 2 certification.
