Gabon’s public gaming body presented its gdjbet.com platform to government officials during the inaugural event in Libreville.

Gabon.- Gabon’s public gaming body, La Gabonaise des Jeux (GDJ), is presenting its online gaming platform and betting products at the inaugural Gabon Digital Week in Libreville. Its gdjbet.com platform features within a wider event focused on digital transformation, inclusion and innovation.

Organised by Gabon’s Ministry of Digital Economy, Digitalisation, Innovation and New Technologies, Gabon Digital Week runs from October 26 to 30 at the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Palace. The event brings together government representatives, technology companies, start-ups, investors and other stakeholders under the theme “Sovereignty, Inclusion and Innovation”.

Director general Roméo Fabrice Ondo presented the gdjbet.com platform to government officials visiting the company’s stand, according to a GDJ statement.

The officials who visited GDJ’s stand included Mark Alexandre Doumba, Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation; Charles Edgard Mombo, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Axel Jesson Denis Ayenoue, Minister of Sustainable Tourism and Crafts; and Christian Emane Nna, Deputy Secretary-General of the Government.

GDJ said it received members of the public who came to explore its products. “Our teams had the pleasure of welcoming the public who came to discover our sports betting, casino, virtual games, lotteries, etc. offerings,” said GDJ.

GDJ officially launched its operations and unveiled gdjbet.com in Libreville on October 22, four days before Digital Week opened. Beyond sports betting, lotteries, casino games, and virtual games, the platform also offers scratch cards and horse racing.

The launch forms part of the government’s efforts to address transparency concerns and strengthen oversight of gambling activities. At the launch ceremony, interior minister Edgar Moukoumbi said a lack of transparency and clarity in the sector had prompted the state to take control of the activity.
