Champion Bet holds penalty competition in Lira, Uganda
Participants take turns shooting seven penalties each against three professional goalkeepers from Northern Uganda’s regional league
Uganda.- Ugandan betting operator Champion Bet has successfully hosted its Lira Penalty Champions competition in Lira City, featuring a Shs 500,000 (€119.46) cash prize.
In the game, participants take turns shooting seven penalties each against three professional goalkeepers from Northern Uganda’s regional league, with the individual having the highest scoring record being crowned the champion.
This year’s edition was won by Oscar, a talented footballer and professional motor vehicle mechanic, who scored all seven penalties, including the winning shot against Lira City Council FC goalkeeper Oyie Philimon. The feat earned him the cash prize and the title of Lira Penalty Champion.
Established in 2014, Champion Bet is one of the long-standing betting companies in Uganda. The operator has expanded its presence across the country with branches in major towns, including Kampala, Toro, Malaba, Jinja, Busia, Mbarara, Masaka and Mbale.
By hosting the penalty competition, Champion Bet aims to support local football talent in Uganda while increasing its visibility and appeal amongst local punters.
