Africa’s top five casinos from Morocco to Seychelles revealed for 2025
Luxury gaming destinations across the continent are attracting high-stakes gamblers and upscale travellers.
Morocco.- Africa’s top five casinos have been officially revealed, spotlighting premier gaming destinations in Morocco, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya, and capturing the attention of high-stakes gamblers and luxury travellers across the continent.
The list, “The Five Best Physical Casinos in Africa”, was compiled by The African Exponent, a pan-African online publication known for its coverage of Africa’s travel, culture and tourism industries.
The African Exponent said: “The continent of Africa plays hosts to some premium gambling venues. Whether that’s large casino resorts or small, luxury venues in upscale tourist hotels. Whether its a resort with casino gambling as part of a destination entertainment complex, or a dedicated high limit gaming room in a swanky hotel on the Mediterranean coast, Africa has it all.”

Morocco leads the way with Grand Casino de Tanger, located atop the Mövenpick Hotel in Tangier. The casino offers more than 100 table games, a poker hall and a high-limit VIP room, complemented by sweeping views of Tangier Bay from its terrace.
South Africa features two venues in the list: Sun City Casino near Rustenburg and Carnival City Casino in Gauteng. Sun City, one of Africa’s most iconic resorts, boasts luxury hotels, golf courses and an expansive casino floor. Carnival City features more than 1,100 slot machines, 50 table games and two high-limit private gaming rooms, alongside cinemas, restaurants and a 3,500-seat big top arena.
Club Liberté in Seychelles delivers boutique island luxury beside the Four Seasons Resort on Mahé Island. Its tropical-meets-colonial design, private gaming rooms and ocean-view terrace make it a standout for exclusive gaming.
Golden Key Casino in Kenya provides a more intimate, refined experience. Located just outside Mombasa’s Old Town, the casino pairs a select range of table games and slots with fine dining at the acclaimed Tamarind restaurant below.
The African Exponent added: “From South Africa to Morocco in the north of the continent, these are the best gambling venues in Africa.”
The recognition of these venues underscores Africa’s growing influence in luxury casino tourism, highlighting destinations that combine high-end hospitality, local culture and world-class entertainment to draw both regional and international visitors.
