WSOP Circuit to start at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma
The World Series of Poker’s WSOP Circuit starts on July 19.
US.- The World Series of Poker regional poker tour WSOP Circuit will return for its 19th season at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, on July 19. The event will start immediately following the conclusion of the 2023 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. Twenty-five stops have been scheduled to date, with additional dates to be announced later in July.
The $1m freeroll will feature a similar format as the 2022-23 season. Kicking off with the Choctaw Circuit Event, WSOP gold ring winners from the live or online circuit events through May 2024 will qualify for the invitation-only Tournament of Champions event during the 2024 World Series of Poker tournament at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
While many venues will be familiar, there will be new stops at Graton Casino in Rohnert Park, California and at Caesars Entertainment’s Horseshoe Hammond, in Indiana, on October 5-16. Harrah’s Cherokee will be the second stop on August 3 with the tour continuing virtually nonstop until the final stop at Caesars Southern Indiana on May 9-20, 2024.
The senior vice president and executive director of the World Series of Poker, Ty Stewart, said: “We are on pace to make history with the largest WSOP of all time this year and have already hosted ten record-breaking events so far at the 2023 WSOP. As the excitement around the game of poker continues to grow exponentially, we expect this energy to roll into the WSOP Circuit the summer, setting some records along the way as well.”
Last week, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced the list of 2023 WSOP Poker Hall of Fame finalists. The 54th annual World Series Of Poker is being held on the Las Vegas Strip until July 18. The nominees will be considered by the 32 living WSOP Poker Hall of Fame members, who will allocate a ballot of 10 total points to determine this year’s inductee. One new member is inducted annually.
