Hard Rock International has announced it expects work to start in June or July.

Hard Rock International has told the Indiana Gaming Commission it expects to start work on the Terre Haute casino in late June or early July.

US.- Construction work on a new casino in Terre Haute could finally begin this summer after many delays on the project.

Hard Rock International executive Jon Lucas told the Indiana Gaming Commission that the casino’s groundbreaking could take place in late June or early July. The opening is slated for autumn 2022.

Hard Rock has reached an agreement with Lucy Luck Gaming, the new casino’s ownership group, to operate the facility.

Gaming Commission members, however, voted to delay consideration of the Terre Haute project’s financing until their next meeting on June 24. They said the commission was waiting on financial information from some Lucy Luck partners before approving a renewal of the casino’s license.

Hard Rock and Lucy Luck Gaming announce agreement

Hard Rock and Lucy Luck announced their agreement a week ago.

Greg Gibson, chairman of Lucy Luck Gaming, told the Tribune-Star: “We are working with the Indiana Gaming Commission on our annual license renewal and approval of a finance plan, so that we will be in a position to break ground as soon as possible.

“Hard Rock and Lucy Luck have come to terms and have already signed a management agreement for the Terre Haute Rocksino. We believe that the construction of the casino will take about 14 months from start to finish.

“It’s probably unlikely that we would work around the clock, but we will certainly have an incentive to complete the construction as soon as economically feasible.”
