Vermont sports betting handle decreases in May
The handle declined 14 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Vermont Liquor and Lottery has reported that the state’s sports betting handle totalled $14m in May. That’s down 14 per cent year-over-year. In April 2026, the handle was $17.5m.
According to the report, adjusted gross wagering revenue was $1.9m. Winnings totalled $12m.
Basketball led the market with a $3.3m handle, down from April’s $5.2m, followed by baseball with $2.6m, a decrease from April’s $2.7m. Soccer registered a $934,475 handle and tennis $713,574.
Of the total handle, $11m was bet in Vermont and $3m outside the state. There were 14,651 active users, with 9,070 in-state and 5,581 out-of-state.
In May, the number of bets was 559,010. Of the total, 468,325 were bet in Vermont and 90,685 outside the state.
