Vermont sports betting handle declines in December

The handle decreased 6.6 per cent year-over-year.

US.- Vermont Liquor and Lottery has reported that the state’s sports betting handle was $22.8m in December. That’s a decrease of 6.6 per cent from December 2024.

According to the report, adjusted gross wagering revenue was $2.6m, and winnings totalled $20m.

Football led the market with a $7.7m handle, followed by baseball with $4.9m, table tennis with $1.3m and soccer with $1m.

Of the total handle, $15.2m was bet in Vermont and $7.6m out of the state. There were 12,849 active users in the state and 15,987 out of state. The number of bets reached 876,586, with 662,985 in Vermont and 213,601 out of state. The average spend per bet was $26.

Vermont’s online sports betting market launched in January 2024. Sports betting became legal in Vermont after governor Phil Scott signed HB 127 into law in June 2023.
