Underdog withdraws temporary sports betting licence in Missouri ahead of launch

The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) has confirmed Underdog’s removal from the list of operators for the sports betting launch next week.

US.- Fantasy sports operator Underdog has withdrawn its temporary sports betting licence ahead of the launch of sports betting in Missouri on Monday (December 1). The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) has confirmed the removal of Underdog from the list of operators.

Last month, Underdog signed a multiyear marketing partnership with St. Louis Blues. However, as reported by Fox 2, Mike Leara, MGC’s executive director said Underdog has shifted its attention to prediction markets, which are not regulated or taxed.

As a result of Underdog’s exit, the Missouri sports betting market will feature eight licensed operators: DraftKings, Circa Sports, Caesars Sportsbook, BetMGM, Bet365, theScore Bet, Fanatics and FanDuel. Operators began accepting registrations earlier in November.
