Ocean Downs Casino plans to open its Sportsbook before the end of the week, and Hollywood Casino on December 23.

US.- Three casinos have already launched retail sports betting in Maryland, and two more plan to open their Sportsbook before the end of 2021. Ocean Downs Casino (TwinSpires) plans to launch by the end of the week, and Hollywood Casino (Barstool Sportsbook) intends to launch on December 23.

In November, the casinos were approved lo launched sports betting by the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC). MGM National Harbor (BetMGM), Live! Casino (FanDuel), and Horseshoe Casino Baltimore (Caesars) opened their sportsbooks last week, marking the start of legal sports betting in the state.

Ocean Downs Casino plans to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch its retail sportsbook tomorrow (November 17) afternoon. The casino has held a controlled demonstration this week and, if approved, the casino will be ready to offer retail sports betting.

Hollywood Casino Perryville is nearly ready to launch its retail sports betting operation. It hopes to pass the final stages of the regulatory approval process early next week.

Two other gaming venues, Riverboat on the Potomac in Colonial Beach and Long Shot’s in Frederick, have met the qualification requirements for sports wagering licences, approved by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC). They need to be reviewed by the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC).
