The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission has approved Riverboat on the Potomac in Colonial Beach and Long Shot’s in Frederick.

US.- The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) has announced that Riverboat on the Potomac in Colonial Beach and Long Shot’s in Frederick have met the qualification requirements for sports wagering licences. The two venues will now need to be reviewed by the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC).

Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director John Martin said: “We’re extremely happy to see these two locally owned businesses move forward, and we’re eager to continue working with them in the coming weeks to launch their sports wagering operations.”

On November 18, the state’s Sports Wagering Application Review Commission approved licences for five casinos.

Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, Live! Casino and Hotel in Hanover, MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Hollywood Casino in Perryville and Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin were awarded licenses and are on track to launch operations later this month.

The casinos are among 17 gambling venues that were offered the first opportunity to apply for Maryland’s in-person sports betting licenses, along with off-track betting facilities, bingo halls, and racetracks.
