Turfsport COO backs vision for Gaming Africa
Clarion’s Gaming Africa, which is set to take place in Johannesburg next October 24-25 keeps gathering support.
South Africa.- Support for the inaugural edition of Clarion’s Gaming Africa, the two-day conference and learning symposium taking place across 24 and 25 October in Johannesburg, continues to gather apace, with regulators, thought leaders and gaming companies all endorsing the vision for the creation of a world class gaming event dedicated to the continent.
Jonathan Siddall, Chief Commercial Officer at Cape Town headquartered Turfsport, is confident that Gaming Africa will help to reflect the status of the domestic industry and, in the process, enhance its international profile. He stated: “As the leading software provider in Sub-Saharan Africa with over 450 installations, Turfsport is putting its full support behind the vision to create the African continent’s premier gaming event and one that will bring software providers, operators and gaming innovators together in a world class environment.”
He added: “Clarion is renowned for its ability to produce some of the very best B2B events in world gaming and will be able to draw upon its international expertise and networking capabilities. Every progressive gaming jurisdiction needs a shop window and rallying point where all of the major commercial organisations and jurisdictional authorities can meet, learn and move forward.”
“The Turfsport business, which is expanding rapidly into eastern, central and western Africa, will most definitely benefit from this calibre of event. I am certain that the major players throughout Africa will be very keen to participate in Gaming Africa and play their part in helping to fashion the future of what is an important and responsible industry. This is a knowledge-hungry part of the gaming universe and the learning agenda for Gaming Africa is the correct mix of global and African-centric topics which are relevant to both operators and regulators. It (Gaming Africa) is a powerful proposition and, as other commentators have suggested in the gaming business media, it could herald a new dawn for Africa.”
Created by Clarion following requests from the industry for a quality business-to-business event dedicated to meet the specific gaming needs of the continent, Gaming Africa will feature thought leaders including Edgar Agaba, CEO, Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board Uganda, James Mbalwe, Director General, Gaming Board of Tanzania and Jean Claude Mushmire, Head of the Services Industry Development Policy, Rwanda Ministry of Trade and Industry.
