US.- The Prairie Band Casino and Resort is set to offer sports betting in Kansas. The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation has voted to approve a Tribal-State Gaming Compact to allow an on-site sportsbook at its venue in Mayetta. It will be the first tribal casino to offer sports betting in the state.

Visitors will be able to access sports betting kiosks throughout the casino floor and sportsbook. The customers will be eligible for loyalty rewards similar to those available for slots, table games, and bingo.

Director of gaming Chris Garrow said: “We are partnering with the world’s leading odds provider and others to give our guests the finest sports betting experience.

“We have been doing free-to-play pick’em challenges for some time, and the results have been extremely positive. We’ve offered our guests and team members free jackpot pick’em challenges for the Big Game and the NCAA basketball tournament, with potential prizes ranging from $100,000 up to $1,000,000.”

Kansas opened legal sports betting on September 1, 2022. The first month of sports betting in Kansas resulted in $1.29m in revenue for the state’s four casinos and nearly $130,000 in sports betting taxes for the state.

Kansas sports betting handle hits new record in March

Kansas sportsbooks took $206.3m in bets in March, up 6.3 per cent from February’s $194m. That’s the highest total since the state’s market opened in September, beating January’s $206m.

Revenue was $46,000, up 25 per cent from February’s $35,916. Operators paid $911,159 in tax, up 80 per cent month-over-month, from $1,134 in February.
