Table games revenue up in Pennsylvania
The local gaming control board revealed that during the 2016-2017 fiscal year Pennsylvania increased table games revenue.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board yesterday that revenue from table games experienced a 3.25 percent increase during the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Just like it was announced earlier this month, slots revenue was also up during that period.
As the gaming board revealed in its website, table games revenue was up in 9 of the 12 months of the fiscal year, with US$866 million registered in that period, almost US$50 million more than the 2015-2016 fiscal year, when the state reported US$839 million. Total table games revenue during June reached the US$70 million mark, a 2.16 percent more than the same month last year. Moreover, tax revenue generated through this modality was 15.74 percent higher from US$119 million in 2015-2016 to US$138 million in fiscal 2016-2017.
Earlier this month the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed that the state went through a 2,2 percent fall in slot machine revenue when comparing the 2016-2017 fiscal year to the previous one. Whilst table games were up almost every month of the year, slot machine revenue was down 10 of the 12 months: during the last fiscal year the state collected US$2.33 billion in revenue, down from the US$2.38 billion recorded in the 2015-2016 period. The tax revenue that Pennsylvania reported through slot machines amounted US$1.2 billion.
