Sweden.- The Swedish gambling regulator has issued a warning and correction order to BS Nordic Ltd over a lack of information on its website betsafe.com. Spelinspektionen said the site failed to comply with Swedish gambling regulations and that the operator must take corrective action within a reasonable timeframe.
The regulator reviewed the site and found that it lacked details including the operator’s phone number, email address, corporate registration number and licence period, as well as details of the risks associated with gambling. BS Nordic corrected several deficiencies shortly after receiving the regulator’s initial remarks, but Spelinspektionen said it had still not corrected the missing telephone number.
Customers who want to get in touch with BS Nordic Ltd could leave their telephone number via the website to be called later. However, Spelinspektionen noted that its regulations state that licensees must make their own contact number clearly visible on their home page. “The function that BS Nordic refers to is not a telephone number,” it pointed out.
While the regulator said this last violations is less serious than the others, it decided that it warranted a warning and an order to correct the breach.
In other recent actions, Spelinspektionen has rapped SkillOnNet after it found that the operator lacked responsible gaming logos on one of its sites. The Prime Casino site was found to have no logos linking to tools such as deposit limits or gambling exclusion.
The regulator noted that under Section 17 of its safer gambling regulations and general guidelines (LIFS 2018:2), licensed gambling sites must have these visible. Head of department Patrik Gustavsson has told SkillOnNet to add the required logos at the top of the site in question. The Swedish regulator has also issued a formal ban against Nixxe BV, which it said it found providing online gaming to in Sweden without the necessary licence.
