Rhode Island sports betting handle reaches $42.1m in February
The handle was down 27.7 per cent month-on-month but up 24.3 per cent when compared to last year.
US.- Rhode Island has reported a sports betting handle of $42.1m for February, a decrease of 27.7 per cent from January’s $58.6m. When compared to the same period last year, the handle was up by 24.3 per cent. It was, however, the lowest monthly total since August of last year.
Online sports betting stakes in Rhode Island amounted to $23.4m, while $18.8m was bet at the state’s two retail sportsbooks (Twin River and Tiverton Casino). Players spent $14.4m in Twin Rivers while Tiverton Casino sports betting handle amounted to $4.4m.
Revenue was up 125 per cent year-on-year at $1.6m (February 2021: $3.6m), though this total was 30.8 per cent behind the $5.2m generated in January this year. Twin River generated $1.4m and Tiverton Casino $278,031.
Rhode Island consumers have wagered $355.9m for the eight months to the end of February, while revenue amounts to $28.7m.
