Rhode Island sports betting handle reaches $58.6m in January

US.- Rhode Island has registered a sports betting handle of $58.6m for January, an increase of 6.7 per cent from December’s $54.9m and of 47.2 per cent from January 2021 ($58.6m). The figure is the second-highest handle since sports betting was legalised and not far from October’s $60.2m record. Online sports betting wagers were $33.5m.

Revenue was up 40.5 per cent month-on-month to $5.2m and up 334.2 per cent year-on-year. Twin River collected $1.6m and Tiverton Casino $756,664.

For the financial year to date, players in Rhode Island wagered $313.8m on sports in the seven months to January. Operators turned revenue of $25.1m.
