Sportradar took part in Sportel Monaco 2025 and brought insights to enhance strategies in Latin America.

Exclusive interview.- Sportradar marked its presence at the event with representatives from various regions, including Raphael Sobral, Sports Partnerships director LatAm, who highlighted the strategic relevance of SPORTEL Monaco for strengthening the company’s initiatives in the region.

Sportradar participates in SPORTEL Monaco every year. What does this continuous presence mean for the company?

SPORTEL is part of Sportradar’s global calendar. It’s a key meeting point with partners, clients, and industry leaders. More than just an event, it’s a space for exchange and continuous updates, where we can discuss innovation, identify trends, and strengthen strategic relationships that drive our work worldwide. For Latin America, it’s a valuable opportunity to connect global developments with local realities and opportunities.

In your view, what was the importance of the event in terms of content and networking?

The event was very rich in two aspects. First, networking: it’s a unique opportunity to exchange experiences with leaders and experts from around the world. Second, the discussions: there was a strong focus on technology, artificial intelligence, data usage, and new ways to monetise sports content. These exchanges are vital because they allow us to consider how to apply or adapt these ideas to the specific realities and opportunities in Latin America. For example, discussions about AI and content personalisation are directly applicable to our Fan Engagement solutions, which use data to create more immersive experiences for fans, and to our OTT Platform tools, which enable innovative monetisation of sports broadcasts.

Which topics stood out to Sportradar for application in the region?

The convergence of technology, data, and entertainment continues to be central. The industry is evolving to offer increasingly personalised and immersive experiences for fans, and data usage is what makes this possible.

Another highlight was the discussion on revenue diversification — something that is already happening solidly in Brazil and the region, with innovation cases in streaming, interactive broadcasts, and fan engagement that are globally recognised.

In this sense, our partnerships with leagues and federations in Latin America, such as the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and CONMEBOL, for data provision and integrity solutions, are clear examples of how we apply these concepts.

Additionally, the growing interest in sports betting in the region reinforces the importance of our data and integrity solutions for this market.

How does this translate concretely for the Brazilian or Latin American market?

Latin America — Brazil in particular — is not behind other markets. On the contrary, we are a reference in creativity, fan engagement, and adoption of new technologies. SPORTEL offers the opportunity to see how other regions face similar challenges and, from that, improve the strategies we already have in place.

This translates into a greater focus on developing localised solutions, such as adapting our data platforms to meet the specificities of regional championships and expanding our partnerships with local media outlets and tech companies to drive innovation in the sports ecosystem.

What was the main insight gained from the event?

That sports, media, and technology are increasingly interconnected and that personalising the fan experience is the natural path forward. SPORTEL reinforces the importance of thinking globally but executing locally, valuing the specificities of each market. This insight drives us to continue investing in our Fan Engagement and Media Services solutions, which allow our partners to deliver personalised and interactive content, increasing fan engagement and generating new revenue opportunities.
