Portuguese gambling regulator launches new self-exclusion platform

The platform is designed to provide a simpler and more intuitive interface.

Portugal.- The Portuguese Gaming Regulation and Inspection Service (SRIJ) has launched a new platform for self-exclusion from online gambling in Portugal.

The regulator said that all self-exclusions carried out through this platform are applicable to all online gaming operators licensed in Portugal. The new platform is intended to provide a simpler and more intuitive interface, allowing self-exclusion requests to be made quickly and efficiently.

The SRIJ said navigation had been optimised to allow a more direct and accessible process at all stages, including on mobile devices without compromising functionality.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese gambling regulator is currently in the midst of a recruitment drive. It’s seeking 11 inspectors: four for the game information technology infrastructure management area, six for the area of control and inspection systems for the integrity of game information and one Inspector for the computer projects area in land-based gaming.

The SRIJ reported that gross receipts from online gaming and betting in Portugal rose 4.5 per cent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, gross revenue from land-based casinos and arcades fell by 3.8 per cent and bingo hall revenue fell by 2.3 per cent.
