Plans for new tribal casino in Arizona
The Gila River Indian Community has announced plans for a fourth casino in Arizona.
US.- The Gila River Indian Community has announced plans for a new casino in the Metro Phoenix area.
The venue is expected to be built south of Chandler, following Governor Doug Ducey‘s approval of a gambling expansion at tribal casinos, which allows sports betting and further table games.
“The Community has been engaged in negotiations for years with the State regarding an Amended and Restated Compact,” said Stephen Roe Lewis, governor of the Gila River Indian Community. “Adding a 4th casino will bring additional revenue, security, and critical services to Community members.”
The tribe hasn’t set the specific location for the venue, although it’s expected to be near Hunt Highway and Gilbert Road. The design process is expected to take between 18 and 24 months.
