Pennsylvania gaming revenue rises year-over-year in December
Revenue increased 15.8 per cent from the same period in 2024.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that revenue generated by gaming and fantasy contests was $616.7m in December. That’s an increase of 15.8 per cent year-over-year but down from a record $623m in November.
Valley Forge Casino Resort led the market with a revenue of $121.8m, up 39 per cent year-over-year, followed by Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course with $116.5m, up 17.2 per cent. Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported $57.2m in revenue, up 6.5 per cent, and Parx Casino Philadelphia $52.2m, down 3.5 per cent.
According to the report, retail slot revenue totalled $186.8m, down 7.5 per cent year-over-year. The number of slot machines in operation was 24,158 compared to 24,448 in December 2024. Retail table games revenue was $79.2m, up 0.28 per cent. Slot machines generated $94.2m in tax revenue and table games $13.4m.
Online gaming generated revenue of $259.7m, up 16.1 per cent from the same period in 2024. Online slots generated $194.6m, online table games $62.8m, and online poker $2.3m. Tax revenue was $115.5m.
The sports betting handle was $797.7m, down 10.74 per cent year-over-year. Taxable revenue totalled $84.8m, up nearly 300 per cent compared to the same month in 2024.
