Pennsylvania casinos set new revenue record for April
After a record performance in March, casinos in Pennsylvania hit a new peak in monthly gross gaming revenue, mainly driven by retail slot games.
US.- Pennsylvania has set a new state record for monthly gross gaming revenue, generating $404.1m for April, an increase of 776.2 per cent on the same month last year when casinos were closed due to restrictions to contain the spread of Covid-19.
In March results, revenues reached 403m.
Retail slot games were the best performing in terms of revenue bringing $201.3m. Retail table games generated $77.8m.
Online slot revenue increased 129.2 per cent to $62.6m, and online table revenue was up 812 per cent to $26.3m.
Casinos in Pennsylvania: best performers
Parx Casino was the best performer for both slots and table games, contributing $37.6m and $18.2m to those respective totals.
Wind Creek Bethlehem was the best of the rest, with $22.5m for slots and $14.2m for table games.
Online revenue increased by 115 per cent to $92.7m, making April the second-best month yet after March. The Hollywood Casino at Penn National had the highest individual igaming revenue with $33.8m.
Rivers Casino followed with $26.6m, then FanDuel partner Valley Forge with $14.8m.
Sports betting figures
Sports wagering revenue increased 164 per cent to $26.3m ($21.5m of online revenue and $4.8m of retail revenue), while the total handle for the state came to $479.4m.
The $169.9m worth of handle staked at FanDuel affilliated Valley Forge Casino Resort was the highest figure in the state, with Barstool Sports’ Meadows Casino posting $106.9m.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National recorded a handle of $58.6m.
Valley Forge recorded the highest revenue with $11.4m, while The Meadows brought in $5.6m and Hollywood Casino $137,000. Mohegan Sun Pocono experienced the highest growth when compared to April 2020, increasing 2065 per cent to $310,936.
DraftKings recorded the highest revenue from fantasy sports at $1.3m, with FanDuel coming in second with $775,667.
