Pennsylvania casino revenues drop 18%
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says casino revenues have fallen 18% in the last fiscal year due to the impact of the pandemic.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has revealed casinos in the state have seen annual revenue drop by 18%.
Figures for the last fiscal year show the impact of the lockdown imposed in March as revenue from regulated gambling in Pennsylvania fell to US$2.7 billion for the year, down from a record high of US$3.3 billion the year previous.
Revenue from slot-machine gambling fell by US$680 million and table games were down by about US$240 million – in both cases a fall of nearly 30%.
Online gambling has proved vital for mantaining revenue, contributing US$240 million, while sports betting brought in US$114 million in the first full year.
Online gambling, including sport betting continued during the shutdown of the state’s 12 operating casinos and the cancellation of most local sports events.
