US.- Penn Entertainment has named former ESPN executive Nate Ravitz as head of theScore. Ravitz will oversee media, advertising, and growth initiatives at Penn Interactive’s media segment.

Ravitz worked at ESPN for 17 years. He most recently served as vice president of digital content and audience expansion. He also worked as a newsroom editor and led content for ESPN’s mobile and streaming apps, ESPN.com and social media platforms.

In a LinkedIn post, Ravitz said: “I’ve long admired what theScore has been able to build and achieve in the incredibly competitive landscape of mobile sports apps. I couldn’t be more honored to join the team and build on that great legacy.”

Penn has completed the rebrand of its online sports betting (OSB) platform from ESPN Bet to theScore Bet following the termination of its agreement with the Disney-owned broadcaster. The move means the unification of its branding across the US and Canada.

The operator is now live in 21 US jurisdictions, including Missouri, which launched regulated sports betting on December1. Penn’s online casino offering, Hollywood Casino, remains accessible within theScore Bet in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It’s also available as a standalone app in those states.
