Players in Oregon wagered $39.5m online on sports in February, 33.5 per cent more than in the same month last year but down 7.9 per cent from January’s record handle.

US.- After a record-breaking month in January, Oregon’s sports betting handle slipped slightly in February. The handle came in at $39.5m, down 7.9 per cent from January’s $42.9m. It was, however, 33.5 per cent higher than February 2021.

The Oregon Lottery, in partnership with DraftKings, is the only licensed operator of online sports betting in the state. The lottery’s Scoreboard online sportsbook, powered by DraftKings through its SBTech division, is currently being phased out in order to be replaced by the standard DraftKings sportsbook.

The February sports betting handle saw in $39.2m, wagered through DraftKings, while the remaining $273,328 was wagered through Scoreboard. Gross gaming revenue reached $3.3m, up 22.2 per cent from $2.7m in February 2021 and 37.5 per cent from $2.4m in January this year. However, revenue for the month fell short from the $4.4m record set in November 2021.

Basketball topped the ranking of the most popular sports to bet on in February, attracting $20.2m in wagers. Football followed with $5.1m, then ice hockey with $4.3m.
