Premier Doug Ford has announced that businesses in the province can lift capacity limits.

Canada.- Ontario Premier Doug Ford has lifted capacity limits would on various businesses in the province, including casinos. Other businesses that can now operate at full capacity include bingo halls, bars, gyms, indoor event spaces and restaurants.

The province aims to remove all public health measures against Covid-19 by March, including mask mandates.

The decision was welcomed by the two casinos in Niagara Falls. The Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and the Casino Niagara opened in July after 16 months closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Fallsview Casino Resort will start hosting live entertainment at the Avalon Theater, which has 1,500 seats.

In July, Ontario passed into Step 3 of its economic reopening plan, and casinos opened at 50 per cent capacity.
