Ontario igaming revenue increases in April
Ontario’s regulated igaming market generated CA$313.3m.
Canada.- Ontario’s regulated igaming market generated CA$313.3m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in April, up 6 per cent from March. According to iGaming Ontario, wagers totalled CA$7.7bn, down 2 per cent from March. The number of player accounts rose by 3 per cent to 1,091.
Online casino accounted for 78 per cent of total igaming revenue at CA$242.8m, up 1 per cent from March. Sports betting GGR rose 34 per cent to CA$64.5m, representing 21 per cent of all GGR. Peer-to-peer poker generated CA$5.9m in GGR, down 11 per cent month-on-month.
For the year ended March 31, 2025, the third year of operations in the province, wagers totalled CA$82.7bn and gross gaming revenue CA$3.2bn. Wagers increased by 31 per cent year-over-year, not including promotional wagers, and gaming revenue increased by 32 per cent. This includes rake fees, tournament fees, and other fees across all operators.
