Oklahoma’s Golden Mesa Casino to open expansion
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on August 22.
US.- The Shawnee Tribe and Global Gaming Solutions (GGS) will celebrate the opening of Golden Mesa Casino’s expansion, in Oklahoma, on Friday, August 22. The renovation project has doubled the size of the casino gaming floor.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be attended by Shawnee chief Ben Barnes; Shawnee ambassador Ron Sparkman; Chickasaw Nation governor Bill Anoatubby; Bill Lance, Chickasaw Nation, secretary of State; Shawnee development president Chris Floyd; Skip Seeley, Global Gaming Solutions CEO; Mike Shannon, Guymon City manager; and Kim Peterson, mayor of Guymon.

The expansion project includes a 80,000-square-foot gaming floor with more than 1,100 electronic games and 10 table games, a new restaurant, 99 hotel rooms, and 45-slip RV park. The venue will increase the number of employees to approximately 250.
The casino, located about two miles southwest of Guymon on US Highway 54, opened in September 2019, as the only casino in the area. GGS, a subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation, manages the casino while the Shawnee Tribe maintains ownership.
Oklahoma tribal contributions to state reached $23.4bn in 2023
United for Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association (OIGA) recently reported that Tribal contributions to the state’s economy in 2023 reached $23.4bn. The study found that the tribes directly employed more than 55,600 Oklahomans and supported 139,860 jobs, accounting for more than $7.8bn in wages and benefits in 2023.
According to the study, tribes spent $582m providing health services to Oklahomans, with over 3.5m unique patient visits, and delivered $351m for education programmes.
