FireLake Casino and Hotel opens in Oklahoma

The Citizen Potawatomi Nation has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new venue.

US.- The Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN) has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new FireLake Casino and Hotel, in Oklahoma. The venue has 500 slot machines and replaces the FireLake Entertainment Center, which opened as a bingo hall in the 1980s and will be demolished to make way for parking.

The hotel has 126 rooms with smart TVs, work stations, and mini fridges. It includes breakfast and 24-hour guest services. The venue will also host events.

Tribal chairman John “Rocky” Barrett, vice-chairman Linda Capps, CPN legislators David Barrett and Andy Walters, Grand Hotel and Resort general manager Joe Garcia, and director of hotel operations Alex Koumaris were joined by community leaders to celebrate the opening.

Barrett said: “I want to welcome all of you to the newest addition to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s facilities. We hope that there’ll be a lot of happiness in this building, and we’re very, very grateful that all of you are here.”

Garcia commented: “Casino technology plays a central role in remodels, driving both operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. Remodels often serve as an opportunity to integrate the latest innovations in slot machines, security and guest services.

“Casino remodels are no longer just about aesthetics – they are about modernizing the infrastructure to create a more connected, secure and personalized guest experience. “Technology not only enhances gameplay, but also deepens engagement, streamlines operations and improves security.”

Koumaris added: “The best part about opening a hotel is when you see the opening team build camaraderie with each other to get the rooms clean, the rooms stocked, get everything ready before those guests come in. To see them excited about it, it’s great.”

Comanche Nation Entertainment recently announced a multi-phase expansion of the Comanche Red River Hotel Casino and Comanche Nation Casino in Southwest Oklahoma. Construction will begin at Comanche Red River Hotel Casino with a new event centre to host concerts, conferences and community events.

It will also add approximately 150 additional slot machines, 15 table games, new bar and food service areas and non-gaming attractions including an arcade and virtual golf suites. The event centre will have seating for 500 to 750 people.
