North Carolina sports betting handle increases in March

US.- The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its sports wagering revenue report for March. The eight interactive sports wagering operators licensed in the state took a combined handle of $685m, up 26 per cent from February. Players won $643,6m.
Gross wagering revenue totaled $38.1m. Under the 18 per cent tax rate, the estimated tax proceeds for the month will be $6.8m.
Mobile sports wagering launched in North Carolina on March 11, 2024. In the first 12 months of legal online sports betting in the state, bettors wagered $6.1bn in paid wagers and almost $500m in free or promotional bets.
