North Carolina sports betting handle hits record in October

The handle increased 32.5 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its sports wagering revenue report for October. The state’s eight licensed interactive sports wagering operators posted a record $811.4m handle, up 32.5 per cent year-over-year and 18.2 per cent from September 2025.

It was the first time since North Carolina legalised sports betting in March 2024 that more than $800m was wagered in a single month. Winnings totalled $729m, and gross wagering revenue was $78.1m, an increase of 17 per cent from September 2025. The estimated tax proceeds for the month were $14m.

For the fiscal year to date, from July, gross sports betting revenue was $221.7m. Tax revenues totalled $39.9m.
