New Jersey gaming revenue increases year-over-year in June
Revenue was up 18.4 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has reported that gaming revenue in the state was $581.6m in June, up 18.4 per cent year-over-year but down 5.4 per cent from May’s $614.7m.
The casino win for the nine casino hotels was $259m, an increase of 6.1 per cent compared to $244.1m reported for June 2024. Table games generated $76.1m and slots $182.8m. Internet gaming win for the casinos was $230.7m, up 23.5 per cent when compared to $186.8m in the same period in 2024. Total gross revenue taxes were $62.8m.
Year-to-date gaming revenue was $3.32bn through June 2025, an increase of 8.5 per cent when compared to the prior year-to-date period. Gross revenue taxes were $364.4m and the casino win was $1.38bn, up 1.7 per cent. The year-to-date online win was $1.39bn, up 22.7 per cent.
Sports betting gross revenue for casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $91.9m in June, up 52.9 per cent when compared to June 2024. Of the total, $91.2m was bet online and $612,656 was at retails. Year-to-date Sports betting gross revenue was $552m, down 3.7 per cent.
New Jersey governor signs bill to ban sports betting partnerships with universities
New Jersey governor Phil Murphy recently signed a bill into law that prohibits sportsbook operators from partnering with public universities located within the state. Senate Bill 2155 will prevent operators from promoting their brands on campus and inside athletics facilities.
According to the bill, colleges and universities may not sign a sports wagering partnership that provides a gambling brand or operator with “access to advertise in the institution’s stadiums and other facilities.” The measure extends to digital and broadcast sports content and athletic departments and booster clubs.
