New Jersey gambling revenue drops slightly in October

New Jersey venues and online operations generated $445.7m.

US.- The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has reported on the state’s gaming revenue for October. The state’s casinos, horse tracks that offer sports betting and the online partners of both reported $445.7m, down 0.7 per cent compared to October 2021’s $483.7m.

The casino win for the nine Atlantic City casino hotel properties was $220.6m, down 7.1 per cent compared to $237.5m in October 2021. The year-to-date total casino win stands at $2.36bn, up 10.3 per cent compared to $2.14bn at the same point last year.

The online gaming win was $147.2m, up 15.9 per cent. For the year-to-date, the total stands at $1.37bn, up 22.3 per cent from $1.37bn in the prior-year period. Sports wagering gross revenue was $77.9m, down 7.4 per cent from $84.2m in September 2021. Revenue stands at $594.8m for the year-to-date – a 7.3 per cent decline when compared to $641.9m for the prior period.

In terms of in-person revenue, Borgata won $62.4m, up 1.2 per cent from a year ago; Hard Rock $38.9m, up 4 per cent; Ocean $28.3m, down 6.1 per cent, and Harrah’s $20.2m, down more than 17 per cent.

Caesars won $17.5m from in-person gamblers, down more than 17 per cent; Tropicana $17.3m, down 18.3 per cent; Resorts $12.9m, down 11.6 per cent; Golden Nugget just over $12m, down 15.8 per cent, and Bally’s $10.8m, down 13.4 per cent.

When internet gambling and sports betting revenue are added, Borgata won nearly $113m in October, up 4 per cent from a year ago; Golden Nugget won $50.3m, up 3 per cent; Hard Rock $44.1m, down half a per cent; and Ocean $31.5m, down 2 per cent.

Tropicana won $25.3m, down 18.7 per cent; Harrah’s $20.3m, down 16.4 per cent; Caesars $18m, down 17.5 per cent; Bally’s 15.5m, up 20 per cent, and Resorts nearly $13m, down 11.5 per cent. Gaming revenue for the year to date is $4.32bn, up 10.8 per cent from $3.89bn at the same point last year.
