US.- The Nevada Resort Association has released its semi-annual report, detailing that in 2024, the state’s tourism sector generated almost $100bn in economic activity, supported 436,600 jobs, and contributed $2.4bn taxes specific to the industry, including taxes on gaming.

The 2025 edition of the report, compiled by research firm Applied Analysis, shows an increase in all major metrics compared to the previous report in 2023.

“We are encouraged by the positive signs showing that the industry is thriving,” stated Virginia Valentine, President and CEO of the Nevada Resort Association. “It continues to grow both in revenue and employment across various sectors. The Fact Book illustrates the crucial role tourism and gaming play in the state’s economy, being the largest contributors in terms of employment, taxes, economic activity, and health insurance coverage.”

The report showed a total economic impact of $98bn, which accounts for 37 per cent of the state’s GDP. The tourism sector made up 28 per cent of the state’s employment, paying $24.4bn in wages and salaries.

John Maddox, chair of the Nevada Resort Association Board of Directors, added, “A robust tourism industry not only creates jobs but also helps small businesses succeed, generates essential tax revenue for government at both state and local levels, encourages capital investments, and supports community organizations.”
