Nevada regulators act on sports betting
Gaming regulators in Nevada have cleared William Hill to launch seven sportsbooks and approved potential out-of-state wagering.
US.- Sports betting is the best looking segment right now in the US as it will potentially be legalised in most states, which is why Nevada regulators have taken several steps to enhance its performance in the region.
Next to several other measures, the state’s gaming authorities have cleared William Hill to launch seven new sportsbooks in the state. The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) had granted the initial approval earlier this month and the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) ratified the decision.
The company will be allowed to open shop in Las Vegas, Laughling, Nort Las Vegas, Reno and close to California state borders as well.
Furthermore, the NGC amended sports betting rules to allow out-of-state wagering, should it be legalised in the future (as it’s currently illegal). During a meeting focused on updating current regulations, the commission also approved an amendment to allow casinos to accept just the last four digits of social security numbers, instead of the full number.
The commission also cleared what “amateur sport or athletic” events, “virtual events” (to include eSports) and “other events” are, all of which need NGCB chair’s approval.
