National Council on Problem Gambling names Agility Grant programme recipients
Five organisations have been given a total of $193,000 to aid with their problem gambling prevention programmes.
US.- The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) has named the recipients of grants in its Spring 2023 Agility Grant programme. Five organisations have been awarded a total of $193,000 towards their problem gambling prevention programmes.
The NCPG said it received a record number of applications for the spring edition of the programme. It will support the following programmes:
- The Hispanic Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program for Hispanic Youth in Cleveland, Ohio.
- The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Maryland Chapter.
- The Nevada Council on Problem Gambling’s Student-Athlete Gambling Awareness (SAGA) program in Las Vegas area high schools.
- Nicasa Behavioral Health Services’ Teen Problem Gambling Group in various northern Illinois high schools.
- Student Assistance Services’ Hidden Hazards of Youth Gambling project for at-risk youth ages 12-17 in Terrytown, New York.
Clare Graff, NFL VP of social responsibility, said: “We’re proud to support the innovative work the NCPG is doing. The funding for these Agility Grants through the NFL Foundation will provide critical resources to non-profit organizations across the country who are on the front lines of problem gambling prevention.”
Keith Whyte, NCPG executive director, said: “The prevention programs supported by this round of Agility Grants demonstrate innovative models designed to reach priority populations and elevate new voices within the problem gambling prevention community.”
The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) announced its fall 2022 grant recipients in October.
