More casinos offer sports betting services in Pennsylvania
Two more facilities inaugurated their sportsbooks this weekend in the Keystone State.
US.- Two more casinos are now offering sports betting services in Pennsylvania after they started and finished their test periods during the week and officially opened their sportsbooks over the weekend.
Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh and SugarHouse Casino in Pennsylvania started test periods on Thursday and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) gave its approval for the facilities to start regular operations on Saturday.
Current regulations in the state allow the owners of the local casinos to apply for licences, which has a US$10 million fee in order for them to operate sports betting at their facilities. The first casino that opened its operations was Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in November.
Pennsylvania is part of a list of states that have legalised and regulated the gambling modality after the US Supreme Court struck the federal Act (PASPA) that prevented states from deciding whether they wanted to offer sports betting services or not.
