Mississippi sports betting handle increases year-over-year in July

US.- Mississippi’s sports betting handle totalled $15m in July, according to a report from the Mississippi Gaming Commission (MGC). That’s an increase of 7 per cent year-over-year and a decrease of 17.2 per cent from June. Taxable revenue was $2.6m.
The coastal region represented more than half of the handle at $9.5m. The Central region generated $6.3m and the Northern region $1.9m.
In the Coastal region, baseball led the market with $4.2m in bets, followed by parlay cards with $1.5m and basketball with $542,375. Taxes in the region totalled $1.3m.
In the Central region, parlay cards registered $1.6m, baseball $1.5m and basketball $305,446. Taxes were $811,325. In the Northern region, parlay cards recorded $748,246 in bets, baseball $606,544, basketball $271,920 and football $20,216. Taxes totalled $2.6m.
